Okay so i have just watched the Latest instalment of the video blog and is it just me or are the producers just losing interest in the whole idea, so yes there is the half gallon challenge but what information did you put across in the video, watching 2.25 mins of watching somebody eating icecream… where is the comentary, the interest in this, it could of been covered in 30 seconds, are you just trying to drag things out. I like many people have been following this from the start and was looking forward to a documentary about the trail filmed on the trail by people on the trail…i hope this latest video blog is not a hint of things to come..

Please put somthing together worthy of the event and not some fraturnity prank.

    Peter –
Clearly you have never thru-hiked the AT. The half gallon challenge is one of the most famous traditions along the trail. While not all hikers attempt it, they all know about it and cheer each other on. Maybe the producers could have made this video more interesting, but to say that it lacked information seems a bit ignorant.

No i have never thu- hiked the AT. but thanks for clearing up the comment, i did not know it was one of the most famous traditions of the AT, the video never stated this, it just mentioned that it was “one” of the traditions.

the main point of the comment was that if you see these blogs as a preview of the film to come, unlike the previous videos this really gave no information on the trail, I would of thought that since all three completed the trail now the video blogs would of got better to promote the film..
No offense was intended and i have huge admiration to anybody who thru-hiked the trail..

I've never seen Brandon turn down a good ice cream… too bad there wasn't a jar of pickles with it.

I Liked the video, I was supposed to hike the AT these past two years, both times things came up. This upcomming spring will hopefully be the time that I can finally start my dream of hiking the AT. found this blog on google, im excited to read it.
The half gallon challenge is something I have been VERY excited about ever since hearing about the tradition, I cant wait to eat all that ice cream, i LOOOOOVE ice cream. DO they still award you with the wooden spoon if you complete the challenge? I was a little dissapointed you didnt show the wooden spoon in the video.
either way, cool to see the challenge being done, thank you for sharing.

  6. They do still give you that spoon! Haha, I carried it with me for the entire rest of the trip. In fact, I think it's still in my wallet….

And good luck, alex, in following your dream. It will be worth the wait. Let us know if you have any questions!
